Collapsed from smoke inhalation shortly after arriving at the fire in the Central Brass and Aluminum Foundry at 1020 Woodrow Street. Riegler was directing fire crews inside when he was overcome. Riegler was 45 and lived at 555 Purcell Ave with his wife and teenage daughter.
