Died from injuries sustained during the extinguishment of the Shoe District Fire of 1910. A portable master stream became loose during suppression activities and struck the Marshall. He was sent to the City Hospital for treatment. He suddenly declined after more than 5 days in the hospital and died. He was 55 yrs old and left a wife. He resided at 910 West 9th Street.
